The Taco Ride takes place every Thursday evening on the Wabash Trace Nature Trail, from Council Bluffs, Iowa to Mineola, Iowa, and back. The scenic ride is about 20 miles through the Loess Hills and ends with dinner at Tobey Jack's Mineola Steakhouse. The weekly rides take place from when the trail is dry enough in the spring (usually in April or May) until late in the fall (usually until Halloween).
Most riders start at Iowa West Foundation Trailhead Park where parking is available. Slightly more than halfway between the trailhead and Tobey Jack's, many riders will stop at a picnic area, nicknamed Margaritaville, for a quick break and to join in a conversation with fellow bikers or to partake in refreshments they brought with them.

Macedonia Heart & Soul is a sub-group of Macedonia Hamilton Development Corp. that was started to help bring to focus what the community of Macedonia wants and needs to continue to flourish. In our working with the community it was key that we save our history and to help build our future. A Murals committee was created to help the City of Macedonia create a vision that would give visitors a walk down memory lane. Through funding from local non profits, the City of Macedonia receiving an Iowa West Foundation Grant and local fundraising efforts the first of these murals will be started this summer on the west side of City Hall by Los Angeles artist Courtney Raney. Our vision for the second mural will be created during our Pack the Grandstand free will donation event. Local artist ZacK Jones will use the event setting to create and commemorate the importance of our historical grandstand. Please mark this date on your calendar!🗓️. The Historical Society of Pottawattamie County's popular "Get Out of Town" program series continues Monday, May 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Council Bluffs Public Library. Stemming from an idea by HSPC member Jon Barnes to focus on areas of the county beyond just Council Bluffs, this installment of the program will look at the history of the area south of the city to the county line. Program co-presenter Troy Stolp notes this is an area rich with history from our very earliest times, including the site of an ossuary of our first known inhabitants and the mustering grounds of the only division in American military history ever based on religion. Murals and Music is a free event celebrating the four new murals along the First Ave Trail. This event will take place on Saturday, May 11, following the Celebrate CB Parade, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Cochran Park. Murals and Music promises an afternoon filled with creativity and entertainment and provides our residents another way to 'Celebrate CB.' Eight local artists will be actively painting murals on temporary art cubes installed at Cochran Park. The Taco Ride takes place every Thursday evening on the Wabash Trace Nature Trail, from Council Bluffs, Iowa to Mineola, Iowa, and back. The scenic ride is about 20 miles through the Loess Hills and ends with dinner at Tobey Jack's Mineola Steakhouse. The weekly rides take place from when the trail is dry enough in the spring (usually in April or May) until late in the fall (usually until Halloween).
Most riders start at Iowa West Foundation Trailhead Park where parking is available. Slightly more than halfway between the trailhead and Tobey Jack's, many riders will stop at a picnic area, nicknamed Margaritaville, for a quick break and to join in a conversation with fellow bikers or to partake in refreshments they brought with them.

Join avid birder, Nic Salick, for an evening hike where we'll look for Nightjars in the prime of their mating season. These are nocturnal, owl-like birds that don't build nests and have some funky behaviors. $10 per person. Ages 12+. Located in Bayliss Park, the farmers market showcases both seasonal and weekly vendors every Thursday evening from 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm. The farmers market also includes wellness activities sponsored by All Care Health Center. Have kids? Not a problem! Along with plenty to do for the adults, there are weekly activities to entertain the kids, sponsored by Centris Federal Credit Union.
The Taco Ride takes place every Thursday evening on the Wabash Trace Nature Trail, from Council Bluffs, Iowa to Mineola, Iowa, and back. The scenic ride is about 20 miles through the Loess Hills and ends with dinner at Tobey Jack's Mineola Steakhouse. The weekly rides take place from when the trail is dry enough in the spring (usually in April or May) until late in the fall (usually until Halloween).
Most riders start at Iowa West Foundation Trailhead Park where parking is available. Slightly more than halfway between the trailhead and Tobey Jack's, many riders will stop at a picnic area, nicknamed Margaritaville, for a quick break and to join in a conversation with fellow bikers or to partake in refreshments they brought with them.

The Crescent Farmers Market will be the last Saturday of every month beginning on April 27th and ending on September 28th from 9AM - 1PM. We have a variety of vendors lined up. There will be produce, canned goods, bakery items, various craft vendors, food trucks, drinks, live music, and more! This event is very family-friendly and is a great idea for a Saturday outing! Join avid birder, Nic Salick, for an evening guided hike where you'll catch one of the most beautiful sunsets around while learning about local birds that call Iowa's beautiful Loess Hills home. $10 per person. Ages 12+. This evening trail walk will offer birders and nature observers of all skill levels a chance to see the breeding birds of the Loess Hills. This time of year presents a great opportunity to see birds when they’re most active. During peak breeding season for most birds in our area, this outing offers participants a great opportunity to learn about the behaviors and songs of birds firsthand. Nic is hopeful we’ll see a broad suite of species, likely including Indigo Buntings, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, Baltimore Orioles, wrens, and maybe, finger’s crossed, Scarlet Tanagers! While we’ll focus our efforts on birds, we’ll talk about aspects of habitat, land management, and conservation at large. As always, there's no better place to catch a sunset than at Hitchcock!
We are popping up a series of two-hour dog parks at Cochran Park! Bring the dogs and join us from 5-7 p.m. at Cochran Park on the following dates: May 29, June 26, July 31, August 27, September 24, and October 29. Check Facebook @CityofCB for weather-related cancelations. Remember: Dogs must be vaccinated, licensed, and supervised while in the park. They must be leashed upon entering and exiting the park, and handlers must be at least 16 years old.
On the last Wednesday of every month through the summer, will be offering a donation-based Community Yoga Class! This class will be on the following days: May 29, June 26, July 31, August 28. This class will be from 6-6:45pm and on a first come first serve basis, so no need to sign up! Doors will open 10 minutes before the start of class.
