Looking for a night of laughs with a riverfront view? Comedy Night returns to Council Bluffs’ River’s Edge Pavilion on Friday, September 18, from 7 to 9 PM Now in its seventh year, this free event transforms the riverfront into an outdoor comedy club for an evening of stand-up.
The free Comedy Night will feature local comedians David Kousgaard, Noe Ramirez, Lauren Vana, and Quionez, bringing a professional stand-up lineup to the riverfront. The City of Council Bluffs partners with Backline Comedy in Omaha each year to recruit comedians and bring fresh local talent to the stage.
Because stand-up comedy may include adult language and subject matter, Comedy Night is intended for adults ages 18 and older.
Grab a Bite and Find Your Spot
New this year, Barajas taco truck will be on site, making it easy to grab dinner before the show or pick up a bite during the evening.
Some seating will be available on the River’s Edge Pavilion patio, but attendees are also encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Arriving early is a good way to find a spot and settle in before the comedians take the stage.
Make It a Night on the Riverfront
If you’re heading to the show, why not make a night of it? Arrive early to explore Tom Hanafan River's Edge Park and check out the newly opened Charles E. Lakin Pier, which extends over the Missouri River and offers beautiful views of the river, surrounding landscape, and Omaha skyline.
You can also walk the Iowa Riverfront Trail, check out the public art installations, or cross the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge for more riverfront views.
And here’s a fun tip: River's Edge Pavilion is also available to rent for weddings, reunions, and private gatherings. Nearby, Belles’ Playground offers a fun spot for kids and another reason to come back with the family.
