On Wednesday, July 3, the community is encouraged to participate in the Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) T-Shirt Day by wearing one of Council Bluffs’ 2019 RAGBRAI T-shirts.
“A community-wide T-Shirt Day is an excellent way for the residents and organizations in Council Bluffs to come together and celebrate the fact that RAGBRAI chose to start the ride in our hometown,” Mayor Matt Walsh said.
Beyond participating in RAGBRAI T-Shirt Day as individuals, organizations can join the fun by encouraging employees to wear their shirts to the office on July 3. Community members can share photos of their office’s or their individual Council Bluffs spirit with us by using #UNleashCB.
While T-shirts can no longer be shipped in time for the T-Shirt Day, shirts are still available for purchase at ragbraicb.com/tshirts in partnership with Anytime Tees. Shirt sales will end on July 1 at midnight.
T-shirts, tanks, and RacerMesh® Tees are available. Youth sizes are available in T-shirts and the RacerMesh® Tees. A 20 oz. tumbler is also available from the online store.
The community T-Shirt Day will help raise awareness to RAGBRAI, occurring in Council Bluffs from July 19 to 21. The annual bike ride is estimated to bring nearly 30,000 visitors to town. This year’s route starts in Council Bluffs with overnight stays in Atlantic, Winterset, Indianola, Centerville, Fairfield, and Burlington, ending in Keokuk.
“It takes hundreds of local volunteers to execute RAGBRAI, and those involved are working diligently to ensure our visitors have a positive experience,” Mayor Walsh said. “We look forward to showing RAGBRAI how Council Bluffs is unlike anywhere else.”
