Looking for a new way to enjoy the outdoors in Pottawattamie County? Snowshoeing is a great way to experience winter in the Loess Hills! Not only does it help you trek through snow that would typically be too deep to hike in, but it is also a great way to get some exercise! Join Rene, a Naturalist with Pottawattamie Conservation, as she walks you through the basics of snowshoeing to help you get ready for your great adventure!

Did you know that snowshoes are available for rental at Hitchcock Nature Center during their regular welcome desk hours? It only costs $6 per pair, per day. Please note that there must be a minimum of four to six inches of consistent snow cover for rentals to be available. Visit Pottawattamie Conservation's website for more information about snowshoe rentals.

Snowshoe Rental Hours:
Friday and Saturday: 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
