NJCAA Championships Back at the MAC

This blog contains information about an event that has already passed. Please visit our calendar for a list of upcoming events happening in Council Bluffs & Pottawattamie County!

On March 4 - 5, 2022, the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) will host its annual wrestling championships at the Mid-America Center. It will be their seventh year holding this well-known event in Council Bluffs.

To qualify for the NJCAA Championships, competitors had to finish in the top three of their district wrestling tournaments. The wrestling season started in November and the athletes have been training daily to prepare for this event. This tournament brings competitors to Council Bluffs from across the nation.

The event will take place on Friday, March 4, 2022, and Saturday, March 5, 2022, and is open to the public.  Adults can purchase a tournament pass for $60 or a session pass for $20. Students with their current student ID may purchase a tournament pass for $40, or a session pass for $15. Children 3 or younger are free to attend.

All sports fans will be able to enjoy and appreciate the intensity of the championship duals at the tournament. If you have a child interested in wrestling, this is a great opportunity to introduce them to the sport.
