January 31st – February 2nd the River City Classic Gymnastics & Martial Arts returns to the Mid-America Center for their annual competition.

 

This event is hosted by the Premier Gymnastics Booster Club, which brings athletes from across the region to showcase their talents and hard work.

 

The gymnasts show off their skills in four categories, the uneven bars, the balance beam, floor exercises, and vaulting. The gymnasts compete based on their level and are judged between level 3 and level 10. Young gymnasts start at level 3 and work their way up to level 10.

 

The competition is broken down into 12 sessions that span the entire weekend. The complete gymnastics competition schedule can be viewed on the River City Gymnastics Classic’s Facebook page.

 

Martial art competitions will also be taking place this weekend at the Mid-America Center including sparring, self-defense application, and traditional forms of the sport.

 

Admission to the competitions are offered by session ($15 for adults, $5 for children), by day ($25 for adults, $15 for children), and by weekend ($45 for adults, $30 for children) Senior citizens will receive a $5 discount. See the River City website for full admission details.

 

The gymnasts and martial artists have put in a great amount of hard work to prepare for this competition. Fans of the sports, friends, and family members will all appreciate and recognize the dedication and passion that the participating athletes exhibit.
