Start St. Patrick’s Day Weekend With the Shamrock Shuffle

St. Patrick’s Day is this Sunday, and there’s no better way to jump-start weekend celebrations than on the 100 Block for The 712 Initiative’s 6th annual Shamrock Shuffle.

The fun run takes place the morning of Saturday, March 16, beginning at 10 a.m. This year’s Shamrock Shuffle includes a few new additions with a street party and live music by local band the Polka Police to follow the race along with a beer garden and themed photo booth.

For those competitive folks, they’ll be happy to learn that another new addition to this year’s Shamrock Shuffle includes Precision Race Results professionally timing the run.

“This addition allows us to give the avid runner a competitive outlet without taking anything away from the fun everyone expects to have at the Shamrock Shuffle,” said Jeff Snow, director of programming and events at The 712 Initiative.

Though being professionally timed, runners can still expect the same aspect of silliness and fun they’ve come to expect from the yearly 5K. Participants are encouraged to dress as crazy as they dare in green and St. Patrick’s Day attire, and runners who beat “the leprechaun” to the finish line will earn a free beverage.

Participants can also expect to find The 712 Initiative’s popular beverage backpacks out and about during the event.

Registration for the Shamrock Shuffle is open with a $30 fee for adults, $20 for those 11 to 18 years old, and $5 for children 10 years old and younger. Participants who sign-up before March 10 will receive a t-shirt with registration.

Participants can join The 712 Initiative and TS Bank at the event by registering at getmeregistered.com/TheShuffleCB. To learn more about the event, visit Shamrock Shuffle’s Facebook page.
