The 2026 Omaha Corgi Races are sprinting back into the Metro on Saturday, May 9, and it’s shaping up to be the most adorable sporting event of the year. Hosted by the Omaha Corgi Crew, presented by the Omaha Sports Commission, and made possible with the generous support of MazzyCo Collars, this beloved annual event will once again transform Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park into a high-energy corgi coliseum.

Fans of short legs and big personalities are invited to cheer on dozens of speedy (and some not-so-speedy) corgis as they race for glory and the prestigious title of Fastest Corgi in the Metro. As always, the races support a great cause — proceeds from the event benefit local dog rescues, with the Grand Champion selecting which rescue receives the funds raised.
The event promises even more heart-pounding excitement, featuring featuring 10 corgi race heats, plus special races for senior corgis and corgi mixes, all leading up to the Grand Championship race. Whether your favorite is a lightning-fast sprinter or a happy little waddler, the Omaha Corgi Races deliver non-stop fun and plenty of “aww”-worthy moments.
