Through New Eyes: Winter Dates in Council Bluffs

My husband and I have failed to celebrate two Valentine's Days in a row due to moving one year and traveling the next. Luckily, Council Bluffs has some wonderful options for winter date nights and weekend excursions that can make up for missing the holiday—afterall every day should be Valentine's Day, right?

Take a look at these date ideas and plan a wonderful winter day in Council Bluffs for you and your significant other!

Dinner at the 360 Steakhouse
I have yet to eat at the 360 Steakhouse at Harrah’s Casino, but it’s a restaurant my husband and I have been referred to on numerous occasions. Learning it was included in Open Table’s 100 Most Scenic Restaurants in America for 2017 and seeing photos of the restaurant’s 360-degree view of Council Bluffs and the Omaha skyline have won me over. We’ll definitely visit soon.

A Walk to Remember on Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge
The first time my husband and I walked across Bob the Bridge and went “bobbing” at the state line, I immediately thought of the movie A Walk to Remember. In the film, a couple visits the border of two states in order to complete an item off one of their bucket lists: to be in two places at once. If your date is a fan of the film, then this is a must visit! Just be sure to dress warm!

Joe’s Indoor Karting
Since it is still cold, indoor activities are probably best, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have some fun! Head on down to Joe’s Indoor Karting for an adrenaline packed time. Are you and your date competitive? Have some fun and make a bet! Winner gets to choose where to grab dinner! Not into karting? Check out The Cryptic Room and these other indoor activities in Council Bluffs.

Dessert at Tish’s
Head over to Tish’s Restaurant for an assortment of dessert options like sundaes, milkshakes, homemade pies and cakes, sundaes, or cheesecake. Forget sharing, you’ll want your own!

Take a Drive on the National Loess Hills Scenic Byway
Spend an afternoon enjoying a beautiful drive on the National Loess Hills Scenic Byway. It may be too cold to get outside and hike, but this drive offers gorgeous views from the heated comfort of your car. Grab coffee from your favorite spot, sip, drive, and enjoy!
