Union Pacific Railroad Museum named Iowa's best

Housed in the 115-year-old former Carnegie Library building, the free Union Pacific Railroad Museum is a cornerstone of the downtown area in Council Bluffs. From historic exhibits to interactive technologies, the museum is sure to be a hit with kids and adults alike.

We've known for a long time that the museum is an asset to Council Bluffs, and media attention to the museum is not new. In 2016, it was named the third-best Transportation Museum in the nation by USAToday in their 10Best series

In May, the Union Pacific Railroad Museum received more online attention, with 24/7 Wall Street identifying the museum as the best in Iowa. It's among heavyweight museums like the Louisville Slugger Museum in Kentucky and Henry Ford Museum in Detroit.
