The Council Bluffs Convention & Visitors Bureau (UNleashCB) would like to thank every single person who participated in our first UNleashCB winter photo contest! Our goal was to get people outside to enjoy winter and see Council Bluffs and Pottawattamie County through a new lens.

We received images from all over the county and throughout Council Bluffs including images from Arrowhead Park in Neola, the West Nishnabotna Water Trail, Bayliss Park, Lake Manawa, and Hitchcock Nature Center.

This week our panelists are busy carefully scoring and judging each photo that came in. They will be scoring the images based on creativity, effectiveness in showcasing winter, and technical merit. A special thank you to Lance Brisbois, project coordinator with Golden Hills RC&D, Kate Simmons, community relations coordinator with Pottawattamie Conservation, and local artist, Kathy Fiscus, for serving as panelists for our photo contest.

This Friday, February 19, 2021, we will be announcing the UNleashCB winter photo contest winner on our Facebook, Instagram, and website. Stay tuned!

Next week, we will open up the voting and allow our followers to vote and choose a “people’s choice” winner! The top five runners-up, based on scores from the panelists, will be eligible for the “people’s choice” award. The “people’s choice” winner will receive a gift card to one of our favorite local restaurants. Be sure to take part in the voting process next week on our social media channels. We can’t wait to see which image you select!

Stay tuned for upcoming photo blogs that will showcase all our wonderful submissions!
