The Nebraska-Southwest Iowa Chapter of MDA is holding it's 22nd annual gala and auction. This year we are celebrating the "House of MDA... A Cure is Coming" and will highlight the faces of those affected by neuromuscular disease. The proceeds from this event will provide services to nearly 1600 families in our area affected by any of 43 neuromuscular diseases. These services include funding for national research programs, a local clinic held at UNMC, support groups, equipment loan closets and assistance with repairs and modifications of wheelchairs, leg braces, and communication devices. These funds will also be used to help send children ages 8-17 affected by neuromuscular diseases to MDA summer camp free of charge! Camp is a place where barriers do not exist. Love, friendship and acceptance abound for youngsters who are faced with daily challenges of neuromuscular disease.
