Did you know that clothing can make you sick, break your bones, and even kill you? It’s true! It can even drive you mad! This program takes a look at 18th- and 19th-century fashions and the deadly secrets hiding behind those fabulous looks. Historian Kathy Wilson will also tackle some urban myths, including whether it was possible for Scarlet O’Hara to have an 18-inch waist!

This is a virtual program. Contact the Reference Desk at 712-323-7553, ext. 4014, to sign up to watch it with us here in Meeting Room B, or to pre-register to view it from home via ZOOM. This program is free and open to the public. If you’re not fully vaccinated, please wear a mask. Thanks to the Council Bluffs Public Library Foundation for their support!
