Hitchcock Nature Center

Enjoy a special afternoon hike at Hitchcock Nature Center, as we take in the early signs of spring in the Loess Hills. Join Glenn Pollock on a guided hike to greet the first blooms of Spring. This relaxed hike will take a slow pace as we scan the landscape of scenic Moonseed Trail for early blooming native flowers, grasses, and sedges. These flowers do not last long, so make sure you don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to learn to identify them and learn about their life history. Glenn Pollock is an accomplished native plant authority, board member and restoration leader of the Loess Hills Preservation Society, and Vincent Bluffs preserve manager. This program will be held entirely outdoors and is open to participants of all ages. Please meet at the playground parking lot immediately inside the main park gates.
