Homeschool in the Hills: Monarch Migration
September 1 | 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.Hitchcock Nature Center
UNfortunately, this event has already occurred.
Area Homeschool students are invited to join us on Tuesday, September 1st & get involved with one of the most well-known citizen science projects, MonarchWatch! Learn to identify monarch butterflies & safely capture, tag, & release them as they pass through our area on their way to Mexico during their annual migration. We will also take this opportunity to introduce you to the Hitchcock HawkWatch, an annual science project held at Hitchcock Nature Center. Learn more about migrating species of raptors & our intrepid team of volunteers that spend fall & early winter watching, counting, & reporting them.
Two sessions of this program are offered. Cost is $3.00 per child age 3 & over with accompanying adults free. Participants must register online at www.pottcoconservation.com for the session of their choice.
