Join us for the first Hitch Hike of 2021! Enjoy a guided hike through a section of the Loess Hills not normally open to the public and learn more about the plants, animals, and history of the prairie. Visitors will hike along a Loess Hills ridgetop through the scenic prairie to reach the McIntosh Pioneer Cemetery, founded in 1874. This trail is only accessible with a Pottawattamie County Conservation Board staff member and is not considered open to the public. Enjoy the spring wildflowers of the prairie including blue-eyed grass, puccoons, and locoweed. This event is free with paid park admission or current Pottawattamie Conservation Foundation membership. Visit www.pottconservation.com for details.
