The monarch butterflies are on their way! Every year in late summer, the super-generation of monarchs make their way to overwintering grounds in Mexico. Come learn about monarch butterflies, their life cycle, and miraculous migration to Mexico as we teach you how we catch, handle and tag monarchs for research. After learning about these amazing migrators, participants are invited to hit the trails with nets in search of monarch butterflies. Staff will show you how we tag and release them. You are welcome to bring your own butterfly net or use one of ours.
*This event will be held entirely outside. Pre-registration is required. $3 per person; children age 3 and under are free. The fee includes admission to the park & use of equipment.
