Volunteer Field Day

May 13
8AM to 12PM
Hitchcock Nature Center

Join Pottawattamie County Conservation staff as we hit the trails at Hitchcock Nature Center for a day of volunteer service. Get ready to make a difference!

Join us from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on May 13th as we support the land stewardship efforts of the Pottawattamie County Conservation Natural Areas Management department. This event will consist of a training session in the morning and then our volunteers and staff will head out into the park to do active restoration in a section of Hitchcock Nature Center. Staff will provide tools but feel free to bring bow saws or loppers if you have them. Please bring gloves, water & dress for the weather.

To ensure that we have proper staffing & supplies we are asking for you to register in advance for this event. For more information or to register online please visit www.pottcoconservation.com or call 712-545-3283 to register by phone. For groups of 10 or more please call and register over the phone so we know you are coming.

All ages are welcome to attend this inclusive event but we will be traversing rough terrain and hiking is required. This event is perfect for families, civic groups, office service projects, & individuals looking for a way to get involved.

There is no fee for this event and participants DO NOT need to pay the $2.00 per vehicle daily fee or have an annual park permit. We appreciate your support!

This all ages event is human friendly but not pet friendly, please leave your canine friends at home. Service animals are always welcome.
