October’s Why Leaves Change Color session of A Land Ethic Workshop features celebrated educator Ron Cisar at Hitchcock Nature Center. This program is ideal for anyone interested in conservation and eager to deepen their understanding of the natural world just beyond their own front door.
The October program participants will enjoy a full morning of instruction & learning, including:
- An introduction to the science behind the annual fall color
- A look at the fascinating process of photosynthesis
- Continued nature journaling practice
- A reading & discussion of Aldo Leopold's essay "Smoky Gold"
This program is intended for participants aged 14 and older with an interest in the natural world. No experience or prior knowledge is required to participate. $15 per person. Online pre-registration is required as space is limited.
