The City of Council Bluffs is excited to announce the first-ever "Glowing Into Spring," a free, all-ages event scheduled for Friday, March 15, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at River's Edge Park in Council Bluffs!
As winter transitions to spring, the City of CB invites residents to Tom Hanafan River's Edge Park for a hot air balloon night glow. Six hot air balloons will be securely tethered and illuminated, providing a captivating visual display. The event aims to offer a unique and enjoyable outdoor experience along the Council Bluffs riverfront.
In addition to the hot air balloons, “Glowing Into Spring” will have a lively food court area with food trucks, fire pits, and acoustic music by Joe Reynolds. Balloon animals and glow sticks will be available for kids while supplies last.
The City of Council Bluffs aims to support the cycling community and encourage residents to utilize the local trail system for recreation and transportation. Thus, the City has partnered with Heartland Bike Share to provide additional on-site bike parking. The first 100 people to ride their bike to the event will receive a commemorative Council Bluffs trails t-shirt.
'Glowing into Spring' represents a celebration of community and the changing seasons, said Council Bluffs Mayor Matt Walsh. "This event provides an opportunity for families and neighbors to come together and kick off the spring season in our beautiful Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park.”
The views of the Missouri River, the Omaha skyline, and the inflated hot air balloons will delight people of all ages. Plenty of parking is available in the parking garage near River’s Edge Pavilion. For additional information and updates, find the Glowing into Spring on Facebook @CityofCB.
