Where can I find more information about Railroad Days?

When is Railroad Days?

  • May 9 - 10, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. 

How do I purchase tickets?

  • Tickets may be purchased online, or at the Union Pacific Railroad Museum, Historic General Dodge House, and RailsWest Railroad Museum on the day of the event.

Is this event family-friendly? 

  • Yes! Railroad Days is perfect for families and railroad enthusiasts of all ages. 

Do I have to take the trolley?

  • All transportation is provided for your convenience, but you are able to walk/drive to the destinations on your own or in any combination. 

Can you take strollers on the trolley?

  • Yes! 

Where can I park?

  • Parking is available for Railroad Days attendees at the following locations: 

    • Council Bluffs City Hall parking lot (Near the UP Museum, south of City Hall building on S Main Street) 

    • Metered spots downtown near the UP Museum (free on the day of the event)

      • North and South on Pearl Street 
      • Along South Main Street
      • East and West of UP Museum on Willow Ave 
    • Pottawattamie County Courthouse parking lot (Access on S Pearl Street, south of UP Museum) 
    • Historic General Dodge House parking lot (Access on S 3rd Street) 
    • Hoff Family Arts & Culture Center parking lots (located on the west side of the building, access on S 6th Street) 
    • Parking lot located one block North of the 100 Block of West Broadway (Access on Vine Street) 

Where can I eat?

  • The Historic 100 Block of West Broadway offers a variety of food and drink options and specials and is one of the stops on the trolley route. For a full list of restaurants in Council Bluffs, browse our eat page. 

I'm from out of town. Do you have any hotel recommendations?

What discounts do my Railroad Days wristband get me?

  • Discounts at area restaurants and attractions may be announced as the date approaches—stay tuned for more fun ways to enhance your Railroad Days experience.

Are the locations and trolleys handicap accessible?

  • The Union Pacific Railroad Museum, Hoff Family Arts & Culture Center, and the Historic 100 Block of West Broadway are wheelchair accessible. However, some of the other historic locations present challenges due to their age. Unfortunately, the trolleys are not wheelchair accessible.
