10th Annual "Souper" Bowl Food Drive

In early February, millions prepare to gather around their TVs and streaming devices to watch the big game. These plans include plenty of beverages and snacks, if not full meals to savor. However, it’s important to remember that many in our own community don’t have that luxury. With the impact of inflation on groceries, food staples like milk, bread, cereal, and canned goods are increasingly hard for families to afford. That has created a greater demand at area food pantries, which strive to meet that need with growing difficulty. In response, the Council Bluffs Rotary Noon and Centennial Clubs will hold their 10th Annual “Souper” Bowl Food Drive on Saturday, February 10, from 10 am to 4 pm at the Council Bluffs Hy-Vee Broadway and Hy-Vee Madison Avenue stores. Rotary volunteers will be stationed near the entrances of the two stores to accept donations in the form of cash or grocery purchases. Proceeds will benefit local food pantries.
