"Story Weaver" is for people who want to tell and/or listen to stories told in and about the natural world in the oral tradition.
Stories may be true, fictional, or mythic. They may be inspired by history, fairytale/legend/folklore, personal experience, observation, family history etc. They may be sad, dramatic, funny, wise, or exciting. We ask that your stories are in some way related to nature, the wild, or ecology. They may even be stories about plants, animals, rivers, stones, etc. with no human presence at all.
Please have your story prepared ahead of time and limit it to five minutes or less.
This program will take place on the longest day of the year: the summer solstice.
Attendance is welcome whether you wish to tell a story or just listen to stories being told.
Free with paid park entrance. Please meet in the Gallery at the Loess Hills Lodge. Ages 16+.
