Overview
Built in New York in 1890, the Broadway Fountain is one of Council Bluffs' most distinctive historic landmarks. Originally serving as the centerpiece of Bayliss Park, the city's oldest park, the cast-iron fountain remained there for more than 70 years before being restored. After spending time near the Historic General Dodge House, it was eventually relocated to its current downtown location.
Today, the fountain stands at the intersection of West Broadway and Pearl Street, where it is complemented by a vintage-style clock tower, decorative lamp posts, and seasonal flower beds. The restored landmark serves as a reminder of Council Bluffs' rich history and ongoing commitment to preserving its historic character.
