2022 OMA Winner: Boxer Barbeque

Congratulations to Boxer Barbeque for winning the 2022 Omaha Metropolitan Area Tourism Award for the best restaurant in Pottawattamie County!

Boxer Barbeque describes itself as “Unique, Unparalleled, and Unforgettable,” cleverly using the city’s, Unlike Anywhere Else identity.

Using only the best quality Certified Angus, their meats are dry-rubbed, then slow-smoked to lock in the moisture that creates that delicious smoky flavor everyone loves! Michael Nolan, the executive chef, recommends the burnt ends to anyone who comes to the restaurant.

In 2019, Boxer BBQ moved to its new location on South Main Street in the heart of downtown Council Bluffs. They renovated the historic building and uncovered a mural painted by the iconic Thomas Cusack & Company in 1877, which you can view from the upstairs banquet hall.

Running the dining room length is a handmade live edge Boxer Community Table, with seating for 24. They’re all about fostering community and bringing people together!

Visit Boxer Barbeque at 513 South Main Street in Council Bluffs, Iowa, or visit their website to check out their menu!
