As the year draws to a close and the nights grow longer, there’s no better time to embrace the beauty of nature and the changing seasons. On December 20 at 5 PM, gather at Hitchcock Nature Center for the Annual Winter Solstice Night Hike, a special evening of connection, reflection, and celebration.
Embrace the Solstice Spirit
Led by naturalist Dustin Clayton, this guided hike invites participants to journey through the winter woods in honor of the solstice — the longest night of the year and the turning point toward brighter days ahead. Along the trail, walkers and seasonal revelers will pause for a small, meaningful ceremony to celebrate the return of the Sun and welcome the new year.
This event is free with a $5 per vehicle park entry fee or included with a park membership. Pre-registration is required, and children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
