The City of Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, and Council Bluffs Chamber of Commerce are joining forces to help address food insecurity in our community. Many local families are struggling to put food on the table, and recent changes to SNAP benefits have only increased the need.
Starting Friday, October 31, donation boxes will be available at select City and County buildings for anyone wishing to drop off nonperishable food or hygiene items. All donations will go directly to Together Inc., a local nonprofit that provides food and essential supplies to local families.
Most-needed items include:
- Cheese crackers
- Beef sticks
- Tuna pouches
- Soups
- Hygiene items
- Shelf-stable milk
- Cooking oil
- Corn flour
- Eggs (shelf stable)
Donation boxes can be found at:
- City Hall (209 Pearl Street)
- Fire Station 5 (3405 South 11th Street)
- Fire Station 4 (2111 Greenview Road)
- Police Headquarters (1 Ezra Jackson Way)
- Chamber of Commerce (149 West Broadway)
- Pottawattamie County Locations Coming Soon
“Our City, County, and Chamber teams are proud to work together to support our neighbors,” said Mayor Matt Walsh. “This effort shows the power of partnership and compassion in our community.”
Together, we can make sure every family in our community has what they need this season.
