If you’re looking for a truly unforgettable way to get into the holiday spirit, the Burris Holiday Home Tour happening December 7 and December 14 is a can’t-miss Council Bluffs tradition. Hosted at the beautiful country home of Dale and Julia Burris (24336 Richfield Loop), this festive fundraiser brings together dazzling décor, family-friendly fun, and a heartwarming cause — all benefiting the Midlands Humane Society.
A Home Filled With Holiday Wonder
For years, Julia Burris has transformed her home into a winter wonderland with nearly 30 uniquely themed Christmas trees. Each tree is designed, thoughtfully sourced, and inspired by ideas she collects all year long from local and national retailers. From Mulhall’s to Mangelsen’s, Prairie in Bloom to the Tannenbaum Christmas Store, many of Julia’s creations also reflect her love for supporting small businesses.
Her basement alone is a showstopper. By late October, it’s fully decked out — often with Disney-themed trees inspired by the family’s favorite vacation destination. These whimsical displays have become a fan favorite among visitors!
When you visit the Burris Holiday Home Tour, you’re invited to do more than look. Guests can explore twenty-nine themed Christmas trees, take on a fun ornament scavenger hunt, enjoy special activities just for kids and indulge in holiday treats and connect with fellow attendees! Whether you’re a holiday décor enthusiast or simply looking for a cozy seasonal outing, the tour offers something for everyone.
Supporting the Midlands Humane Society
