Look up and watch the sky come alive at Fields of Flight, a two-night hot air balloon event at Ditmars Orchard & Vineyard on Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12.
Colorful balloons will take flight over the orchard before lighting up the evening sky during the balloon glow. Add live music, orchard favorites, food vendors, and drinks, and you have the makings of a memorable fall night in Council Bluffs.

What to Know Before You Go
Admission and parking are $40 per car, with admission included. Only one ticket is needed per vehicle, and tickets must be purchased online in advance. Quantities are limited, and there will be no walk-ins, so carpooling is encouraged. Free shuttle and tram service will run from the parking areas.
This is a spectator-only event, so balloon rides will not be available. Flights are also weather dependent, with pilots making the final decision about an hour before launch.
Food, Drinks & Orchard Fun
Grab an apple cider doughnut, orchard favorites, and drinks while you take in the show. The playground stays open for kids, and apples will be available in the store. U-Pick closes at 3 PM
What to Bring
Pack a chair or blanket and bug spray for a comfortable evening under the balloons. Pets must stay home, and portable restrooms will be available.
A Night for a Great Cause
Fields of Flight supports the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, adding an extra special reason to make plans for the weekend.
