Join us on October 4 at 9:00 a.m. at Iowa Western Community College for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s! This 2-mile walk, organized by the Alzheimer’s Association, raises funds to support care, resources, and research for those affected by Alzheimer’s. Participants will also experience the moving Promise Garden ceremony, where colorful flowers symbolize personal connections to the cause and our shared commitment to ending the disease. It’s a meaningful way to honor loved ones, raise awareness, and take steps toward a cure.

Important Details & Info
All funds raised through the Walk to End Alzheimer’s directly support the care, resources, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. As a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, all donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law, helping advance the fight against Alzheimer’s while providing critical services to those affected.
All participants must register to walk and sign a standard waiver, including children, who can be registered online or via an offline form signed by a parent or guardian. While there is no registration fee, each participant is asked to make a personal donation and commit to fundraising. Participants who raise at least $100 will receive an official Walk T-shirt in time for the event. Offline donations can be submitted by check or money order to the local Alzheimer’s Association office and will be credited to your personal fundraising page, or added directly via the Walk to End Alzheimer’s mobile app.
Volunteers
Volunteers help make the Walk to End Alzheimer’s a success! From set-up and clean-up to registration, water stops, and assisting with the Promise Garden, there are many ways to get involved. Anyone interested in helping on event day can visit the volunteer page to learn more about available roles and responsibilities.
Promise Garden Flowers
Every registered participant will receive a Promise Garden flower to represent their connection to Alzheimer’s. Choose a color that best reflects your story: Blue for someone living with Alzheimer’s or another dementia, Purple for those who have lost a loved one to the disease, Yellow for current caregivers, and Orange for supporters of the cause and the vision of a world without Alzheimer’s.
Join us in taking steps toward a future without Alzheimer’s. Whether you walk, volunteer, or donate, your participation makes a real difference in the lives of those affected by the disease.
