Live music, local flavor, and good vibes just steps away from Lake Manawa
The Dock Bar and Grill is quickly becoming one of Council Bluffs’ top go-to destinations for live entertainment—and I recently had the chance to experience it for myself. I visited during a summer concert on their outdoor Bandsville Stage, and it was the perfect blend of dinner, drinks, dancing, and community fun near Lake Manawa.
Although the show didn’t start for another hour, The Dock was buzzing. The parking lot was packed, so I grabbed a spot on a nearby side street and joined the early crowd. Inside, the bar was lively with people grabbing drinks, chatting, and ordering food ahead of the music. As a self-proclaimed cheese frenchie enthusiast, I had to try theirs—paired with crispy waffle fries. Gooey, delicious, and totally worth it.
The outdoor patio was where the real magic happened. The Dock recently revamped the entire space, and it shows. There’s a small bar outside, plenty of table seating, and open space in front of the stage—perfect for dancing under the open sky. The setting couldn't have been better with overcast skies and low 80s temperatures.
That night’s headliner was JAM, a tribute band covering the iconic hits of Michael Jackson and Bruno Mars. The lead singer had infectious energy, and by the third song, nearly everyone was on their feet dancing and singing along—including me. It was an all-ages event, with families, friends, and music lovers of all ages soaking up the atmosphere and grooving to the beat.
In addition to its summer concert series, The Dock hosts bingo, music bingo, and daily food specials throughout the week. Whether you're looking to unwind with live music or just enjoy a casual night out, this spot is where locals and visitors can count on good food, great company, and unforgettable tunes.
