Crochet Basics Class – Learn the Basics & Create Your First Project!
Have you always wanted to learn how to crochet but didn’t know where to start? This beginner-friendly class is the perfect introduction & is led by the incredibly talented Christy Jaworski, owner of V. Ferme in Blair, NE.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the foundational skills every crocheter needs, including:
-How to properly hold and use a crochet hook
-How to make a slip knot
-How to make a chain stitch
-Single crochet
-Half double crochet
-Double crochet
-Slip stitch
-How to weave in ends for a clean, finished look
During class, you’ll complete a small, simple project to practice your new skills and leave feeling confident to continue crocheting at home.
All students will receive a crochet hook, a skein of yarn, stitch markers, and blunt needle to use in class and take home.
No experience necessary — just bring your creativity and willingness to learn!
Sit & Stitch Sundays feel like the gentle exhale you didn’t know you were holding in. Picture yourself tucked into a warm corner of the orchard’s tasting room, yarn or thread in hand, spreading out your project bag like you’ve finally found your crafting sanctuary.

Bring your knitting, crochet, embroidery, quilting squares, or any half-finished project that’s been giving you the side-eye at home. Ask questions, trade tips, share patterns, or simply sit and stitch in companionable silence. It’s community in its softest form.
We also have a free box! Are you looking to clear out your excess yarn stash? Old patterns? Duplicate crochet hook or knitting needles? Fabric? Anything craft related! Bring it in & toss it in the box - feel free to look through for something you need!
