UNfortunately, this event has already occurred.
Join us for a fall outing at Hitchcock Nature Center during peak hawk migration season! Located in the heart of the Loess Hills, this crucial habitat area offers sweeping views, rich biodiversity, and a perfect setting to connect with nature and learn from local experts. The day will include a guided hike with a hawk migration talk led by park naturalists, a visit to the observation tower to chat with hawk watch biologists, and a mini lunch-and-learn at the scenic overlook with Dr. Tom Rosburg. Participants will have the opportunity to explore moderate hiking trails and discover the fascinating plants and animals that make this region so special. Don’t miss this chance to witness the magic of migration and deepen your connection to Iowa’s wild places! Space is limited to 25 people, so don’t forget to RSVP today!
