Story Weaver | Festive Folktales

December 18 | 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
Hitchcock Nature Center

Story Weaver welcomes anyone interested in sharing or listening to stories about the natural world in the oral tradition. Musicians, poets, and thinkers are invited to tell or read stories, share a poem, or perform a song inspired by nature. Attendance is open to those who wish to participate and those who prefer to simply listen.

Stories or songs can be true, fictional, or mythic, inspired by history, folklore, personal experience, observation, or family. They may be sad, dramatic, funny, wise, or exciting, but should connect to nature, the wild, or ecology—plants, animals, rivers, stones, and more.

For December, contributions are encouraged to reflect the season, celebrating winter, holiday traditions, or the anticipation of the new year. Possible themes include the winter solstice, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Krampus, Yule, or vivid winter experiences in the outdoors.

Free with paid $5/vehicle park entrance or membership. Please meet in the Gallery at the Loess Hills Lodge.
