PACE ART CLASS How to Write a Song Apr 30 | 10 AM-12 PM | Ages 7-12
In this creative musical workshop, participants will explore the various ingredients of songwriting, and using the technique of piggybacking, they will come away with their own original ditty on a topic they choose. Piggyback songs are familiar tunes (like “Yankee Doodle”) paired with new lyrics, and they are a great way to begin writing your own compositions! Instructor, Lori Lynn Ahrends, a former teacher in the Council Bluffs schools, is a children’s singer-songwriter who has created the brand Overall Buddies; a series of songs, videos, and books for young children and the adults who care for them.
