Saying No to Suicide: Poems and Reflections
September 3 | 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.Council Bluffs Public Library
UNfortunately, this event has already occurred.
During the 1980s, Sandy struggled with depression and suicidal ideation related to life situations. She worked with therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists, and was hospitalized twice, for several weeks each time. She took medication for depression and anxiety. She said no to suicide hundreds – probably thousands – of times. Writing poems and letters helped her cope. Dr. Sandy Nesbit Tracy will read poetry and share stories from the depths of her depression. There will be time for questions after the poetry reading. CAUTION: Topics include suicide, self-harm, death, mental illness, and mental hospitals. Some poems are verbally graphic and mention blood or monsters. Mild profanity.
Please call to make a reservation as space is limited due to COVID-19 restrictions. A face mask is required for all attending.
