The Granger Railroads of Wisconsin - Author Talk with Daniel Faas
October 9 | 6:30 p.m.Union Pacific Railroad Museum
UNfortunately, this event has already occurred.
Historian Daniel Faas will be presenting his book, The Granger Railroads of Wisconsin: When Midwestern Farmers Fought Big Industry. In his talk, Faas explores one of the nineteenth century’s most influential political and economic movements, when a fraternal organization of Midwest farmers—the National Grange of the Order of Patrons of Husbandry—banded together to challenge rising railroad shipping rates. Their efforts shaped national rail policies for over a century, demonstrating how small farmers wielded significant power against powerful industrial interests.
This author talk is free and open to the public. RSVP to save your seat!
