Overview
Big Lake Park is a 191-acre community park known for its scenic lakes and excellent fishing opportunities. The lakes are stocked twice each year with rainbow trout, making the park a popular destination for anglers of all ages. Big Lake also serves as a trailhead for the Iowa Riverfront Trail, providing easy access to miles of outdoor recreation.
In addition to fishing, visitors will find two playgrounds, baseball and soccer fields, a tennis court, picnic shelter, and restrooms. The park is also home to one of Council Bluffs' Art in the Park installations and continues to evolve.
Exciting improvements are also coming soon, including a new, expanded boat-themed playground, additional picnic shelter, accessible rubber surfacing, and a new trail connection into the park.
