Cochran Park

4.3

Overview

Located along FIRST AVE Trail, Cochran Park is a vibrant community gathering space featuring recreation, public art, and easy access to one of Council Bluffs' most popular trail corridors. The park includes a modern playground with climbing areas, treehouse-inspired platforms, tube slides, shady spaces, and a rubberized safety surface designed for active play.

Visitors will also find a baseball field, basketball hoops, four pickleball courts, and a mini-pitch for 3v3 soccer. The park is home to an Art in the Park installation by Jeffery L. Day, created in 2015, and sits near several FIRST AVE Trail murals, making it a great place to combine outdoor recreation with public art exploration.

A self-service Council Bluffs Public Library kiosk allows visitors to conveniently check out and return books, adding a unique educational element to the park experience. The kiosk itself features a colorful mural, further reinforcing the area's artistic character. Its location along the trail also makes Cochran Park a frequent gathering place for community activities and Parks & Recreation programs throughout the year.
