Dedicated in 2018, the First Responders Public Safety Plaza honors the men and women who serve and protect communities through law enforcement, firefighting, emergency response, and public safety services. The plaza features lifelike bronze sculptures depicting a police officer and K-9, a firefighter holding a child, an Iowa State Patrol trooper, and a sheriff's deputy.
The memorial's design connects the sculptures through a walkway that represents the vital role of the 911 Call Center and recognizes the teamwork and coordination required during emergencies. Located in downtown Council Bluffs near the historic Broadway Fountain, the plaza serves as a place for reflection, appreciation, and recognition of those who dedicate their lives to public service.
