Overview
Operated by the Council Bluffs Soccer Club, the Iowa West Sports Plex is a 75,000-square-foot indoor turf sports facility designed for training, league play, and tournaments. The artificial turf field is the size of a regulation youth 11v11 soccer field and can be divided into multiple smaller configurations for soccer, baseball, softball, flag football, rugby, lacrosse, ultimate frisbee, and more. The facility also features speed and agility training space, a full-service athletic training room, concessions, and spectator viewing areas. The facility regularly hosts youth sports leagues, camps, clinics, and tournaments from across the region.
During practice times, parents are encouraged to stay and network with one another in the flexible spaces. The concession stand just off the entry lets families grab a bite to eat without leaving the facility. The upstairs mezzanine area features bleachers and bench seating, with a bird's-eye view of the action, and cafe tables for parents to sit and work. The space is designed to encourage conversation and congregation spaces. Outside of the field partition wall on the main level, bleachers and additional cafe seating encourage visitors to stay and connect.
