Overview
The Historic Sidewalk Mosaics and Broadway Streetscape Tiles transform downtown Council Bluffs into an outdoor history experience. Thirty-four mosaic tiles located along Pearl and Main streets between 1st Avenue and 9th Avenue illustrate scenes from the city's past, inviting visitors to explore local history at their own pace.
Additional streetscape tiles along West Broadway between 1st Street and 2nd Street feature historic postcard imagery from the late 1800s, offering another glimpse into the people, places, and events that helped shape the community. Together, these public art installations create a self-guided walking tour that blends history, art, and discovery throughout downtown.
As visitors explore the mosaics and streetscape tiles, they'll uncover stories from Council Bluffs' past while experiencing the city's historic districts, public spaces, and downtown character. The attraction is handicapped accessible.
