2022 Summer Fun with CB Parks & Rec!

The City of Council Bluffs proudly presents the 2022 Parks and Recreation Summer Fun Guide! This 16-page colorful catalog details all the Parks and Recreation summer programs, projects, and services. With the vibrant colors and lively images of past events, the City’s Summer Fun Guide has us longing for a warm breeze and a frozen treat.

The Summer Fun Guide is being mailed to all City of Council Bluffs residents, additional copies will be available at the Council Bluffs Public Library, and a digital version is available at cbparksandrec.org.

“I believe this is the perfect time to be living in Council Bluffs,” said Mayor Matt Walsh. “Many great things are happening in our community, and we have a wide variety of activities and events that make us unlike anywhere else. On purpose!”

In addition to the list of parks and recreation events, the guide also provides the Council Bluffs Fire Department’s hydrant party schedule, a checklist of CB summer fun, a playground challenge, and lists of places to picnic, hike, splash, and swim.

The “Recreation on the Move” program is a new addition for 2022. Recreation On-The-Move is a free drop-in program with fun, pop-up recreational programming throughout the parks of Council Bluffs. The activities are designed for kids to attend with friends, parents, or caregivers and will feature a different theme with related games and activities. A schedule is provided in the guide as well as online.

Also new this year is Belle's Play Garden which opens soon! This play area features a 15-foot-tall pelican play structure. Belle’s is made possible thanks to these generous donors: the Tomasek-Knudtson and Davidson families, Back to the River, and Iowa West Foundation.

The guides should hit the mail by April 25, but you can get a sneak peek at www.cbparksandrec.org. Follow the City of Council Bluffs on Facebook @CityofCB for regular updates!
