Overview
Located along the Missouri River, North America's longest river, Tom Hanafan River's Edge Park is a premier riverfront destination offering scenic views, outdoor recreation, and community gathering spaces. The park serves as the Iowa gateway to the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge, a 3,000-foot-long architectural landmark that connects Council Bluffs and Omaha while providing breathtaking views from 60 feet above the river.
Visitors can enjoy walking and biking trails (see Iowa Riverfront Trail), expansive green spaces, community events, and Belles' Play Garden, a Missouri River-inspired playground designed for children of all ages. The park is also home to River's Edge Pavilion, a popular event venue, and continues to evolve with exciting additions that enhance Council Bluffs' vibrant riverfront experience.
