1. Go Wild for Conservation

September 10 | 5:30 PM | The Landing Event Venue

Support local conservation efforts at the 23rd Annual Go Wild for Conservation Fundraiser. The evening features a silent and live auction benefiting the Pottawattamie Conservation Foundation and the Gary & Beth Matters Environmental Education Scholarship Fund. Guests can enjoy local beer and wine tasting, food by Block 16, a wine and spirit pull, and more while supporting projects that protect local parks, land, and environmental education programs.

2. Shop Local at Junk in the Trunk

September 12 | 8 AM | Antique City Drive

Head to downtown Walnut for Junk in the Trunk, a one-of-a-kind pop-up marketplace featuring vendors set up right from their cars, trucks, and tailgates. Browse handmade goods, vintage finds, local creations, baked treats, and more as makers, artists, and treasure hunters come together for a fun morning of shopping and community.

3. Enjoy Music and Laughter at the Arts Center at Iowa Western

September 13 & 18 | 7:30 PM | Arts Center at Iowa Western

The Arts Center at Iowa Western is bringing a mix of timeless music and comedy to the stage this September. Sean Altman and Jack Skuller will honor Simon & Garfunkel with Forever Simon & Garfunkel: A Tribute, featuring classics like “The Sound of Silence,” “Mrs. Robinson,” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” Later in the month, comedian and former Seinfeld writer Pat Hazell brings his one-man show Permanent Record to the stage, sharing hilarious stories, humor, and unforgettable moments.

4. Take on the Arrowhead Obstacle Trail Run

September 19 | 10:30 AM | Arrowhead Park

Put your skills to the test at the Arrowhead Obstacle Trail Run, a 5K course through the scenic trails of Arrowhead Park featuring more than 15 obstacles. Younger adventurers can join the fun with a 1-mile kids obstacle trail run featuring 10+ obstacles. Run competitively, challenge yourself, or take on the trails at your own pace during this outdoor event benefiting the Pottawattamie County Trails Association.

5. Share Your Talent at Open Mic Night

September 25 | Doors open at 6:30 PM | Harvester Artist Lofts

Spend an evening celebrating local talent at Open Mic Night at Harvester Artist Lofts. Perform music, comedy, poetry, or something completely unique, or come support local performers. The night continues with karaoke, making it a fun evening filled with creativity and entertainment.
