Held at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, the Summit will feature dynamic sessions centered on the Fund’s four key focus areas, all led by experts committed to driving meaningful change. A major highlight of the day will be our keynote address from Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Emmy-winning actress and author Marlee Matlin, who will share her powerful story of resilience, recovery, and advocacy. Driving Change for Women in Southwest Iowa
The Women’s Fund of Southwest Iowa is the catalyst for lasting, positive change in the lives of women and their families. Through purposeful planning, strategic insight, and collaborative needs-assessment, this endowed fund supports programs designed to improve quality of life and well-being.
In our community, many organizations are ready to step forward to help create solutions for women across southwest Iowa. The Fund works closely with partners to identify needs and design tangible solutions, focusing on:
- STEM educational initiatives, health and safety, personal finance, leadership, equity, and community engagement
- Accessible and affordable childcare and early learning programs
- Safe and affordable transportation related to childcare
- Services promoting women’s health, safety, education, workforce equity, and well-being
- Programs supporting women and children with dignity and equity
- Resources to help women age gracefully in their communities, including access to quality healthcare, healthy foods, exercise, family resources, and volunteer opportunities
Keynote Speaker: Marlee Matlin
An acclaimed performer and outspoken advocate for equity and inclusion, Marlee Matlin brings a unique voice to the 2025 IMPACT Summit. Her compelling stage presence and genuine storytelling invite audiences into her lived experiences—from her historic Hollywood debut to her ongoing work for social justice. Through thought-provoking reflections, Matlin explores the challenges she’s faced, including addiction and abuse, and the lessons learned along the way. Her message is inspiring and a call to action for compassion, courage, and community. Her keynote is sure to be one of the most memorable moments of the day.
