Iowa West Foundation Trailhead Park serves as the primary Council Bluffs trailhead for the Wabash Trace Nature Trail and connects visitors to Council Bluffs' growing network of recreational trails. Whether you're planning a family outing, a casual walk, or a full day of cycling, the park provides a convenient starting point for exploring some of the region's most popular outdoor experiences.

The trailhead features ample parking, direct trail access, and a playground, making it a welcoming stop for cyclists, walkers, runners, families, and outdoor enthusiasts. From here, visitors can begin the 63-mile Wabash Trace Nature Trail or connect to nearby routes, including the Lake Manawa Recreational Trails, Valley View Trail, and Iowa School for the Deaf Nature Center Trail, providing access to more than 41 miles of connected recreational trails throughout Council Bluffs. During the warmer months, the park becomes a gathering place for the legendary Thursday Night Taco Ride, where cyclists come together before heading down the Wabash Trace for an evening of riding, food, live music, and small-town hospitality.
