Lake Manawa State Park is one of western Iowa's premier outdoor recreation destinations, offering 1,529 acres of parkland and a 700-acre lake just minutes from downtown Council Bluffs. Known for its sandy beach, boating opportunities, and diverse recreational amenities, the park attracts visitors year-round for adventure, relaxation, and family fun.

Visitors can enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, biking, picnicking, and wildlife viewing throughout the park. The beach area offers kayak, canoe, and paddleboard rentals, while shelters, trails, and open spaces provide opportunities for everything from family outings to large group gatherings.

Whether you're spending a day on the water, exploring the trail system, or relaxing on the beach, Lake Manawa delivers one of the region's most popular outdoor experiences.

Visitor Information: Nonresident vehicle permits are $5 per day or $40 per year. The daily fee is not required for nonresidents who go to the beach and pay the beach admission at Lake Manawa. Admission to the beach area is $4 per person (children under 2 years old are free). Visit the park website for current pricing and details.
