Overview
The Historic Lincoln-Fairview Neighborhood Murals celebrate the people, landmarks, and stories that helped shape one of Council Bluffs' most historic neighborhoods. Three 12-foot-tall photo murals depict a downtown scene from around 1910, Washington School, and the former Council Bluffs Fire Department Central Station, offering a glimpse into the community's past.
Installed in 2020 by the Historic Lincoln-Fairview Neighborhood Association, the murals were created to enhance walkability while highlighting the area's rich history and character. Together, they serve as both public art and an outdoor history exhibit for residents and visitors exploring the neighborhood.
Located within the Lincoln-Fairview Historic District, the murals contribute to Council Bluffs' growing collection of public art installations that celebrate local history, architecture, and community pride.
