Overview
Council Bluffs is home to a growing collection of murals that celebrate the community's history, culture, creativity, and sense of place. From large-scale public art along the FIRST AVE Trail to colorful neighborhood and downtown installations, these works transform everyday spaces into vibrant destinations that can be explored throughout the city.
FIRST AVE TRAIL MURALS
The FIRST AVE Trail Murals transform a portion of Council Bluffs' trail system into an outdoor gallery of public art. Created by talented local and regional artists, the collection features large-scale murals and colorful mini-murals that celebrate creativity, community, history, and imagination. Supported by the Iowa West Foundation and coordinated by the City of Council Bluffs, the project has helped turn the First Avenue corridor into a vibrant destination for walkers, cyclists, and art enthusiasts.
